Christmas is coming to North Devon

With the festive season fast approaching, there are a whole host of events coming up this November to help the county – locals and guests alike – to embrace the Christmas Spirit. From tree festivals to handmade craft fairs, carol concerts and of course switching on the Christmas lights, there are plenty of good excuses to book a festive break to Devon this November.

Woolacombe Tourist Information Centre starts us off on the 16th with a Christmas Shopping evening. Browse a collection of handmade gifts, cards, decorations and more while you enjoy a complimentary glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.

On the 24th Ilfracombe plays host to Combe Christmas, a bash organised to celebrate the switching on of the Christmas lights, complete with craft stalls, live music and food & drink. Organised locally, the party starts at 6pm and is open to all.

The Exmoor Christmas Fair takes place on the 25th and 26th at Porlock Village Hall, and is another chance to browse some amazing handmade gifts from local craftspeople. It’s the perfect destination if you’re interested in picking up some unique and unusual stocking fillers as part of your Devon winter break. Free parking & free entry means it’s an ideal choice for all ages.

These are the events that we’re keeping an eye on, but they are certainly not the only ones on this month! There are plenty of local Christmas favourites like the RHS Rosemoor Glow, Lynton & Lynmouth  Christmas shopping weekend, the BideFood festival at Bideford, the Dulverton Christmas Market and Christmas at South Molton to name but a few – no matter where you are in North Devon you’re guaranteed to find a little piece of festive magic to help get you in the Christmas mood.
