Whilst staying with us you can explore the dramatic South West Coast path where North Devon’s coastline gives panoramic views of some of the best unspoilt sandy beaches in the country – Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe, Instow, Westward Ho!, Lynton & Lynmouth, as well as Crooklets and Summerleaze in Bude, near Holsworthy. 

Surf, swim, or just chill out in a deck chair on North Devon’s award winning beaches. They contrast with the high moorland of Exmoor and the rugged cliffs of Hartland Point and Clovelly. Braunton Burrows is a world-class environment deemed a biosphere by UNESCO. This is an internationally protected area of outstanding natural beauty rich in wildflowers and bird life. In 2011 Exmoor was designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve by the International Dark Sky Association. So why not take the time to visit Exmoor and look up? Our dark skies are some of the best in the UK. We have minimal light pollution and on a cloudless night you can see literally  thousands of stars and astronomical sights such as the Milky Way with the naked eye.

For the more energetic, there are a network of inland paths to explore, such as The Tarka Trail, Two Moor’s Way, Coleridge Way or the Ruby Way ideal for cycle or walking. The Tamar Lakes are popular with cyclists, walkers, runners, anglers, sailors and water sport enthusiasts. Wind your way through the countryside comprising of fields bounded by hedgerows, woodlands and streams.
